What Jarrod Bowen did with Mike Dean after diving against Arsenal star Aaron Ramsdale

Arsenal secured a crucial win against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Centre-backs Rob Holding and Gabriel Magalhaes netted a goal in each half, clinching all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side – who are now above local rivals Tottenham Hotspur who defeated Leicester City 3-1 earlier in the day.

English winger Jarrod Bowen netted the Hammers‘ only goal of the game but he was also involved in a moment of controversy.

In the second half, Bowen was booked by referee Mike Dean for diving following a challenge from Gunners goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, with the talented shot-stopper immediately claiming he didn’t foul the West Ham attacker.

Dean clearly agreed with the former Sheffield United star, brandishing a yellow card for the offence.

Bowen didn’t complain the 25-year-old shook hands with the official – seemingly agreeing that it was the correct decision to book him.

Still, the Gunners were able to hold onto their lead and regain fourth place from Spurs, who they will play later this month.

First Arteta and Co will welcome Leeds United to the Emirates Stadium next weekend whilst the Lillywhites travel to Anfield to take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

Speaking after his side clinched a 3-1 win against Leicester City on Sunday, Tottenham boss Conte admitted that the north London side face a difficult few weeks.

“For sure we got three points in an important moment of the season, especially because in the next games we are going to face first Liverpool and then Arsenal“, Cont said.

“Today it was vital to get three points.”

“There is only one result and a lot of pressure, but I said to my players to live this moment, to enjoy this moment because we deserved it after really great work that we did in these six months. I think no one at the start of the season could imagine Tottenham challenging for a place in the Champions League, especially in November when there was a change, and for this reason, we have to be satisfied that we stay in this position to fight for a big achievement.”
