Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said he would have preferred to talk about Romelu Lukaku’s man-of-the-match performance than the two points dropped after the disappointing 2-2 draw with Wolves on Saturday.
In the pre-match interview, Tuchel was asked about what he expected from Lukaku during the game.
Tuchel was clearly not in the mood to make individual assessments after the game, but he still felt that the Belgium international deserved more.
“It’s not the moment today to talk about individuals,” the manager told Chelsea TV. “I’m sorry for him because he scored twice, and normally he should be the man of the match.”
“[But] now we talk about another drop of two points in a crucial moment of the season.
The lack of clean sheets is a big concern for this Chelsea side who heavily relied on their solid defence to win games under Tuchel.
N’Golo Kante and Jorginho’s absences obviously did not help in this game, but they still have just two clean sheets in the last seven games.
