Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand thinks that Aaron Ramsdale will go on to become a ‘top‘ goalkeeper in the future having impressed in his first season at Arsenal.
The Englishman has been one of the surprises of the Premier League season, having helped the Gunners keep 12 clean sheets.
In that time, he’s made several world-class saves, including arguably the save of the season from James Maddison’s free-kick in the Gunners‘ 2-0 win over Leicester City back in October.
His rise was unexpected, as he came into the dressing room off the back of two relegations with Bournemouth and Sheffield United respectively.
Arsenal spent around £30million for his services, but it’s a fee that looks worth every penny now as it looks like they’ve found their number one for the next decade.
Ferdinand certainly thinks that anyways, judging by what he said on the latest episode of Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, as cited by The Boot Room.

The United legend was asked who he thinks has been the signing of the season.
He went with Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, but he said that Ramsdale is certainly up there, and he predicted a bright future for the England international: “Aaron Ramsdale, yep,” he said.
“He started the season ridiculously well, being talked about to play for England. He’ll be a top keeper for years to come.”
It’s a big claim and one that Ramsdale will certainly be looking to live up to in the coming years.
He’ll be focused on reaching the Champions League with Arsenal as they look to qualify for the competition for the first time in five years.
They’re ahead of Tottenham Hotspur by two points with four games to go in the race, and they’ll look to extend that lead this weekend when they host Leeds United at the Emirates.
