Next Mohamed Salah lined-up for summer transfer as Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United eye deal

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all set to do battle this summer as each looks to bring RB Leipzig attacking-midfielder Christopher Nkunku to the Premier League.

The Frenchman has been on fire in the Bundesliga this season and his latest performance took him a level comparable to Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah.

All three top-flight clubs are looking to bolster their attacking units during the summer transfer window and it is easy to see why Nkunku has caught the eye.

A 4-0 victory against Augsburg on Saturday night saw him add another two goals to his tally, taking him to 20 for the season in the Bundesliga.

The German side are seemingly prepped for a transfer battle and appear adamant that the 24-year-old will remain a Leipzig player for the 2022-23 campaign.

Director Oliver Mintzlaff recently said: “We have clearly discussed it internally: we won’t let Nkunku leave this summer, we told him and his agent“.

Neither those comments nor the player’s latest performance will have done much to dampen the appetites of Thomas Tuchel, Mikel Arteta or Erik ten Hag.

It was a display that allowed him to join Salah in an elite category along with just Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema.

It was a game that meant Nkunku had now scored 20 or more goals and provided 10 or more assists in the current league season from Europe’s top-five divisions.

His three companions in the category are all considered some of the best players in the world, so the chance to sign the next Salah or Mbappe is one that no club is going to want to pass up.

Arteta in particularly will be eager to bolster his front-line.

With European football on the cards for next season the Spaniard needs to add more depth to his side and landing a player like Nkunku would be a serious statement of intent.

New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly may be eager to endear himself to his new club’s supporters by landing a marquee signing.

With two years left to run on his contract come the summer, any transfer for the player is not going to be cheap.
