The empty role of sporting director has been discussed again between Michael Edwards and Chelsea, but the former Liverpool executive is sure he won’t work this year.
Edwards‘ remarkable transfer record while at Liverpool impressed Todd Boehly, the new co-owner of Chelsea. One of Boehly’s major priorities was Edwards, who left Anfield this summer after spending 11 years with the team.
This summer, the Blues made an attempt to get in touch with Edwards, but he had previously made it clear that he was not interested in working this season. Sources now reveal to 90 Minutes that an additional attempt to get in touch with the 43-year-old was unsuccessful as well.
