Tottenham’s Son Heung-min, Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen have all been nominated for the Premier League’s Player of the Season award.
The three London-based stars are among eight nominees, including Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Manchester City’s Kevin de Bruyne and Joao Cancelo.
There was also inclusion for Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse.
Each star is worthy of their nomination in their own right.
Salah, Alexander-Arnold, De Bruyne and Cancelo have been instrumental to their side’s respective title challenges this season, whilst Ward-Prowse has provided a calming influence and impact in a struggling Saints side.
North London duo Son and Saka have also been exceptional.
Son currently trails Salah by one goal in the Premier League’s Golden Boot race, having found the net on 21 occasions this term, whilst also registering seven assists in that time.
On the other hand, Saka has scored 11 goals from the Gunners‘ wing this campaign, whilst he’s also provided six assists for his Arsenal teammates.
At such a young age, the 20-year-old has helped lead the Gunners‘ resurgence under Mikel Arteta as they look to secure Champions League football for the first time in five years.
Son will be looking to have something to say about that as he did on Thursday night as he scored to make it 3-0 in the North London Derby.
The victory means Spurs now trail Arsenal by just one point with two games left to play in the race for the top four.
Bowen has starred for the Hammers this campaign.
With ten goals and ten assists in England’s topflight, he’s led West Ham to a healthy seventh position in the table, whilst he also helped them to reach the semi-final of the Europa League.
One final push could mean they return to the competition next season, but at the very least, it looks like they’ll be playing Europa Conference League football in 2022/23, which is a great achievement.
