Arsenal centre-back Pablo Mari has been impressing since moving on loan to Serie A side Udinese in the January transfer window and they are now interested in signing him permanently.
Mari had tumbled down the pecking order at the Emirates and it is unlikely they would stand in his way of a permanent move.
That does not mean they are going to agree to any old deal.
Now, in a report from Tutto Udinese, the Italian club are ready to submit an improved over in a bit to sign the Spaniard on a permanent deal.
London understands that Arsenal are chasing a deal for Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey.
The Scotland international is being targeted as Nuno Tavares continues to attract criticism for his performances in place of the injured Kieran Tierney.

Hickey has scored five goals in Serie A this season and the 22-year-old is expected to cost £18 million once the summer transfer window opens.
With Tierney still recovering from knee surgery a competent and versatile back-up will be wanted.
Arsenal are interested in signing Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford during the summer transfer window, but Roy Keane has warned the Gunners that the 24-year-old has been playing like a child in recent weeks.
Speaking on Monday Night Football after Manchester United vs Brentford, Keane said: “He’s got that experience, he’s played international football, but he doesn’t mix his game, he doesn’t look like he’s matured well enough. We’ve seen in a few games recently, even when he’s playing through the middle, I said he plays like a child. It’s like he’s not learnt about the game.”
