Mikel Arteta led Arsenal team have been incredible so far this season in the English Premier League where they have established themselves as one of the strong and favourite contenders to win the title at the end of the season.
The Gunners who got their campaign fully back on track in the latter part of the previous season which got them back to where they belong were able to maintain the tempo in the start of the new campaign hitherto.
Their consistent run of form made them currently sit at the top of the table with five points clear ahead of second place Manchester City following the completion of the pre-World Cup campaign.
Arsenal this season maintained a nine-game winning streaks at home in all competitions which was their best stats in the start of a campaign since 2004 where they won 11 in that run, before they now lost their Carabao Cup ties at the Emirates Stadium in the mid-week against Brighton and Hove Albion but still maintained the record in their domestic top-flight league alongside Manchester City.
However, they were able to return to winning ways yesterday in their 14th league game of the season away from home against Wolverhampton Wanderer at the Molineux Stadium to extend their lead at the top of the table.
Earlier before their game, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City side played at home against Thomas Frank led Brentford team at the Etihad Stadium where they suffered a shocking and narrow two goals to one defeat, which was their first home league defeat since February as well as putting an end to their 11-game home winning streaks in the Premier League.
As such, Manchester City’s defeat to Brentford means Arsenal are now the only team with a 100% winning record at home in the English Premier League this season which also guaranteed them the top spot at Christmas.
They will then be hoping to maintain the tempo in their next game as they continue their pursuit in the competition.
